The Joy of Print: Relief and Monoprinting (5-week course)

$375.00
sold out

Tuesdays from 6-8pm: January 14th - February 11th

(January 14th, January 21st, January 28th, February 4th, February 11th)

Local artists and Pickwick members Maggie Fiori (@maggiefiori) and Lia Goncalves (@portmantoadprints) will share their love of print in this five week introductory class held at Pickwick Independent Press.

Students will have the exciting opportunity to learn relief printmaking within a community print shop on a variety of printing presses. This class will cover the basics of linocut printmaking, including the option to print a reduction block in multiple layers of color. It also includes gelli plate printing, a type of monoprinting which is playful and painterly.

Beginner and intermediate printmakers are welcome-- instruction will meet each student at their level and be based on the projects students wish to create. If you've done other kinds of printmaking and you want to get into relief, or if you've done block printing by hand at home and you want to learn on a press, this is a great class for you! No drawing is necessary.

Per student fee is $375 and includes all materials. Space is limited!

(If you are interested in participating in the class and want to split the payment into two installments, one up front and one the week before class, email us at pickwickindiepress@gmail.com and we can make it happen.)
